Service Description

PLEASE BOOK ONE TIME SLOT PER DOG...more than 1 can be added to your basket. A non-refundable £20 deposit will be paid for each dog at checkout. The remainder is to be paid at the clinic. The Eye Scheme is run in conjunction with the British Veterinary Association (BVA), the Kennel Club (KC) and the International Sheep Dog Society (ISDS), to identify inherited and non-inherited eye disease in dogs and puppies. The tests are carried out by BVA/KC/ISDS appointed panelists; James Rushton PhD DipECVO MRCVS is the panelist joining Kirkbourne for the eye testing clinics. YOUR EYE APPOINTMENT Please arrive 10 minutes before your appointment time so the appropriate eye drops can be given to your dog. If your dog is a registered pedigree, you MUST bring your KC registration certificate (the green A5 certificate NOT the pedigree tree) or ISDS registration certificate. Failure to bring these documents means the test result cannot be given on the day and an additional fee will be charged for postage and administration. If your dog in not a registered pedigree, please place N/A in the box. All dogs, including puppies, must be microchipped. Pease ensure your dog is clean and in an appropriate condition for handling on arrival. All dogs much have been let out to do their business before entering the building. There will be a well marked and dedicated area to ensure this on arrival. WHAT TO BOOK: Please ensure you know which test your dog needs to be booked for. If unsure please check the Eye Scheme page in the main menu. The Routine Eye Test - conducted annually for those dog breeds who require it, especially if actively breeding. The Gonioscopy - completed every 3 years once the dog reaches 18 months old for those breeds who require it. For breeds who require both, a discounted package is available. TERMS AND CONDITIONS: For the safety of the panelist, the volunteers, other owners and dogs, its is your responsibility to ensure your dog is of amenable temperament to receive eye drops and be restrained by yourself for the eye examination. If not possible the appointment will be abandoned. All bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable (to date or another dog) due to paperwork completion and the panelist and volunteers time to allow for these clinics to take place. Rude, violent, disrespectful or confrontational behaviour will not be tolerated. If any of this is deemed the case you will be asked to leave immediately with no refund.


Cancellation Policy

All bookings are Non-transferable and non-refundable unless cancelled by the organiser. You MUST bring your KC registration certificate (the green A5 certificate NOT the pedigree tree) or ISDS registration certificate. Failure to bring these documents will mean that the test result cannot be given on the day and an additional fee (£11 per dog) will be charged for postage and administration. If details are not correct on completion of the online booking form for each dog the additional fee (£11) will also be charged on the day due to the administration of completing a new form. For the safety of the panelist, the volunteers and other owners and dogs, its is your responsibility to ensure your dog is of amenable temperament to receive eye drops and be restrained by yourself for the eye examination. If it is not possible to administer eye drops or perform the examination then the appointment will be abandoned. All bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable (to date or another dog) due to pre- prepared paperwork completion, and the time booked of the panelist and volunteers to allow for these clinics to take place. Rude, violent, disrespectful or confrontational behaviour will not be tolerated. If any of this is deemed the case you will be asked to leave immediately with no refund.
