Gundog Scurry League
Kirkbourne's very own Scurry League designed to honour working dog tradition, skill, and sporting spirit.
Taking it back to the original scurry competition style.
What you can expect
QUALIFIYERS
Run as a Cube Challenge at each game fair we attend and at 2 further Kirkbourne events.
The winners of each Cube challenge will qualify to attend the FINAL event.
All events can be attended and taken part in. You just need a single win to qualify.
All qualifying events are stand alone events attracting their own prizes.
The FINAL
Will run as Scurries used to be; a working test style scurry, which really tests your dogs skills rather than just their speed.
Separate Retriever and Spaniel competitions will be held. This will ensure each breed will be tested on what they are designed to do!
Examples of what the FINAL will be contain are as follows (but not limited to):
Retriever Scurry
Retrievers will be required to be consistent at heel, pick multiple dummies and retrieve a blind with distraction
Spaniel Scurry
Spaniels will demonstrate their hunting and covering of ground, drop to shot, with a marked retrieve, a distraction and a blind.
