Residential Training
We offer residential training for all gundog breeds, based on over 40 years of hands‑on experience. Whether you have a young dog, a pet gundog, or one that needs fine‑tuning, we provide clear, structured training that gets results.

Our Methods
Our approach is simple: we work with your dog as an individual. By paying attention to how they respond, we adjust the training to suit their needs. It’s not about gimmicks — just proven techniques that build steady progress.
Our Facilities

Set in quiet countryside, our kennels and grounds give dogs the space to focus. Safe, practical, and designed to support training without distractions. At Kirkbourne, dogs don’t just stay — they become part of the family.
Your dog will have a structured daily routine allowing for progress and adjustments to training as necessary based on their needs. With plenty of daily activity and exercise, interaction with other dogs and a quiet space to rest and relax, they will be in the best environment to learn and progress.

Owner Support
Throughout the residential stay, we keep owners involved with regular updates and guidance, so you can see the progress as it happens.
Training doesn’t stop when your dog leaves us. You’ll leave with clear advice and honest feedback, so you feel confident carrying on with your dog’s progress at home.
By working with both you and your dog, we ensure lasting results — strengthening the bond between you and your companion long after their time at Kirkbourne.
Residential expectations

As an average, dogs stay with Kirkbourne for 5 weeks. The first week will be getting to know the dog and the dog getting to know its new surroundings. It is week 2 were the training will really begin. Clear communication will be provided throughout and any expectations for adjustments to this time frame.

Tailored Online Training Programme
If residential training is not for you, Kirkbourne also offers an individually tailored online training programme based around the same principals.
Reach your goals and aspirations but done by you following a 4-6 week individually written programme.
With the use of an online training plan and daily tasks and feedback, each day is created and adjusted to you and your dogs needs to ensure you get to where you want to be.
